WEBINAR RECORDING: POPIA and Information Officers – What you must do.

Section 55 of POPIA provides that the responsibilities of information officers include:

1. the encouragement of compliance with the conditions for the lawful processing of personal information;
2. dealing with requests made to the body pursuant to POPIA; and
3. otherwise ensuring compliance by the body with the provisions of POPIA;

The CEO or Head of the Organisation must also ensure that:

1. A Compliance Framework is developed, implemented, monitored and maintained; 
2. A Personal Information Impact Assessment is implemented.
3. Internal Awareness Sessions are conducted.
